I want to reinstall my Windows XP pro sp3 but I don't know how to format my hard drive.

I don't have any floppy disk drive, only cd drives

I do own the original XP pro installation disk but it doesn't seem to provide what i need to format my hard drive. How should I do that?

Thanks a million for any help

Go into system BIOS and set first boot device to CD/DVD. Place the Windows XP install CD in the tray, save and exit. When prompted to press any key, press any key at that time. The hard drive can be formatted with the windows install CD.

Thank you sooooooooooo much badge, you saved my life.
I have been looking for this solution for 2 days non stop, neither Windows help, technician friends or any other site I've looked at gave me an answer as simple and clear as you did.

I was able to format my disk and reinstall Windows.
I bought this computer two weeks ago for my home studio and I've tried getting rid of my problem with my firewire soundcard which gave me an error message each time. I've been messing so much with the SYSTEM RESTORE that my windows was somewhat unusable any more.
Now I will try to re install everything hopefully without problems.
Thanks again.
