I cant find explorer on vista

Hello,
I use firefox and windows Vista all the time and it's great. However some sites don't support firefox. I then tried downloading explorer 8. my comp froze then it restarted itself. It then asked to reboot to a previous working order. I selected yes. Screen goes black, then loads files 1 by 1 for about 3 minutes then Vista loads and there's no explorer anywhere. I tried to re-download explorer but it says there's a more recent version already installed and it won't let me install. Explorer is not in program files either.

Go to control panel -- Remove the installed IE version & re download it and install it manually.

Hi newcomer and welcome to the Tom's hardware forum.

Try THIS to uninstall IE. Reboot the PC and instlal IE7, IE8 still having some problems.
