{Print to file

I want to "print to file" a bunch of files, then Really print them later. My HP Photosmart wireless printer is off, but the software insists that I put it online when I select print.
Can I get around this?

What are you trying to print/save from? IE8?

With IE8, on the menu line, click on "Page".
Click on "Save As..."
Remember what directory you are saving the file to so you can find it again.

If I start with WordPad, create a doc, want to "print it to a file", I select Print, my printer is offline, and I get no option to select a file.
What I CAN do, is allow the print function to queue the unfilled request and print later. Can't control this way like I'd like to.
Am I missing something?

If you are using WordPad, just Save the file.
Why are you trying to Print to File?

Was hoping for a print queue facility, where by I could select the print jobs in whatever order, without re-invoking the source/creating program (e.g., WordPad). Too much?

You don't have a problem.
You're just trying to do something the program wasn't designed for.
