Alright, I've used both Aria and Scan in the past, but only for the odd component here and there.

Finally decided to go with a fresh build so I started putting pieces in a basket on Scan, but while I was checking reviews for GPU's I noticed that the prices were very similar in $ as they were in £. I expected prices in the US to be a little cheaper as per usual, but to satisfy my curiosity, I went to Newegg and put identical items in the basket there.

So, 5 identical items in both baskets:

Scan - £672 (inc shipping)

Newegg - $864 ~£550 (w/o shipping)

22% more expensive or an average of £24 per item

I know I'm having a bit of a rant here, but that is ridiculous. I can't even import them because the UK import tax would mean it would be more expensive.

Anyway, anybody know of some dodgy looking-but-actually-safe UK web shop that sells stuff at reasonable prices?

Novatech is worth a look, operating out of Portsmouth with fairly fast delivery.

Yeah, I was looking at Novatech, simply as they offer free delivery. Fairly similar prices to everyone else though

At least it'll save me about £15 postage
