Scheduled a disk check on C on boot up. It does not give me an option to over ride. At Stage 5 of 5 it seems to stop at 82% complete. The C drive light is out. Am I being impatient and it is still doing something or has it died?

Is there a way to over ride the check disc so that I can get into the system? I have tried pressing any key and that does not work; neither does esc, ctrl-alt-delete. The only way to get out of it is to do an uncontrolled power down.

Thanks for any help.

Dang this is pretty much the same issue with mine. my chkdsk doesnt even show me the percentage when it is doing a step so idk at all if it is froze or not, the hard drive light is still lit (i have let it sit for 6 hours)
also the chkdsk keeps coming on no matter if i restart and stuff.
