Hard drive configuration is not set to factory default

Did you play around with the jumpers and put them into the wrong place? there is usually a diagram on the hard drive that shows how they need to be placed. I believe this could cause it? If I'm wrong someone please jump in!

i bought it and the person at the store did it for me. obv he was a software engineer so he knew how to attach it at the acer store...stil getting the same message so have no clue what to do as i desparately want to restore my windows to factory settings and have no backup cd
