I've been reading posts that say a core 2 duo should be running much cooler at idle. I am monitoring mine with the intel utilities and it seems to agree with the mobo in bios.
It's always at about 59C. I tried RMclock, and using the HLT procs on each core I can cool it down on idle. Trouble is, the system runs 1/2 speed. It runs slow, even if I kill off the program, only recovering after a reboot.
I'm looking for a utility that will keep it cool when it's idle.
Does win 2000 not support this, is that why others seem to see changes while I don't?
