When i have $130 and i wanna directx10-videocard for my new system.
Should i buy a GeForce8600GT or save a bit and buy a GeForce8500GT?
Is it really worthwhile to buy 8600GT instead of 8500GT?
Thank you.

Depends on the models involved, but in general the GF8600GT will be worth the extra money and give you more headroom. Of course if you find a nice GF8500GT that can be overclocked it makes up for the initial mediocre performance.

What the heck?? Are u completely insane??
The 8600 GT is more than twice as good as the 8500 GT!

Do you even bother to learn about the various models out there?
If you get a GF8500GT with GOOD MEMORY then it will overclock alot, and make it worth the money. Otherwise like I said in general the GF8600GT is worth the extra money you pay. The Gainward GF8500GT beats most GF8600GT cards at stock speed, because it's clocked at 600/700(1400) versus 540/667(1330) and not SP bound and OCs very well, so like I said it depends on which one you're talking about and the price. There are also of course some GF8600GTs with faster cores and better memory for the price, but if you clock the GF8500GT beyond it beats the stock GF8600GT despite the SP difference and for the money can be worth it, so I don't see what's so difficult about what I said. Remember it's also value.
In general the GF8600GT is worth the money, because it has a better starting point even for overclocking, like I said.
