HP deskjet f4400

Just bought this printer. I have all minimum reqts on my Dell pc. While attempting to install get error "Device driver has not met the Microsoft Windows XP logo reqts." On phone with HP for 2 hours and they couldn't solve. Thought it was just a glitch with the printer and want me to take it back and get another. I wasn't impressed with their diagnostics (try loading, click thru error) and don't really want to go thru this again on what I suspect will be a problem on the next f4400 I get. Anyone know anything?

Right click on my PC, properties, in the tab hardware, driver singing, and select the first option "Install drivers without ask me for approval". After this, reboot the system and try install.
