Windows backup does not see my usb 2 0 external hard drive

I have a Seagate 200gb hard drive mounted externally(D![:)]( ":)")
. Windows backup doesn't see the drive. I can aaccess the drive and widows sees it whem I go to "My Computer. I want to do backups to the drive but Windows Backup doesn't recognize the drive. I runn Windows XP Home Edition SP 3. Help!!!

I dont think you can unless you plug them in order that you want them. whenever you plug in an external drive, it takes the next available drive letter. The OS basically assign the drive letters chronologically.
