After having different apps close randomly while using them, removing and reinstalling the apps only to have the same thing happen I ran CHKDSK. The following is what is told me:
CHKDSK is verifying file (stage 1 of 3)...
File Verification completed
CHKDSK is verifying indexes (stage 2 of 3)...
Deleting index entry network;ib.xml in index $I30 of file 102152

Errors found. CHKDSK cannot continue in read-only mode

I have no practice in fixing this error as I have never received it before. Any suggestions what I should try, or what it means even?

So chkdsk is running in read only mode, not repair. It is posible chkdsk is not able to repair any errors found if running in the wrong mode or just a case of running in non repair mode. You might try the last suggestion liested in the link to prompt a manual chkdsk repair mode. If chkdsk still fails and it were my machine, I would do a repair install to bring the OS back to the point on the installation CD.
