How do i reinstall my graphics card

Hello,
I have a very annoying problem. I have an acer laptop andvery so often it needs to do updats. Idid them about 2 months ago and when they had finished i found that my screen resolution was slightly fatter. I thouht it woulnt matter but soon did i realise that i can no longer go on any installed games, or any downloade programmes. I have tried altering the resolution but the options arent wide enough. What do i do ?
