HP laptop powers on,then powers off by it self

Hello,
I have a Hp Laptop dv2500 with AMD turion. When I power it on,it has a black screen,and after about 5 seconds it powers it self off. The power light comes on and that's about it.

Do you see any messages on the black BIOS screen?

Do you get the same result with the A/C power cord and the battery?

sounds like a bad power supply
if it doesn't work on either A/C or battery, and its under warranty RMA it
