I have a HP Color LaserJet 2600n, and have had all kinds of problems with it. The latest is that, while downloading some software and rebooting, the printer disappeared. When I went to add it, over and over, I get the same message: print processor does not exist. What's the simplest solution? I've already downloaded the driver from HP's website.
I know it sounds obvious but step one is making sure everything is plugged in and you didn't maybe trip a wire out.
After that try unplugging the power from the wall for 30 seconds so it resets.
Probably not the problem but always worth a check,
so you can try checking the device manager to see if you see the printer in there (I'm assuming USB) under the USB subheading. You can see if there are any problems in there that need to be fixed(driver issues etc)
Everything's plugged in. I checked the device manager and I don't see either of the two printers I have installed. The other printer is working. I've had problems before with this printer when trying to print pdf files, the spooler had to be disabled and then started again. It looks like a different problem this time. I can download the driver, put it into a folder, and then 'browse' to it when I try to install the driver, but nothing seems to work.
I've solved the problem. I "uninstalled" the driver by going to Start, All Programs, HP, Uninstall (i.e., using the printer software), and I happened to find my CD with the software and ran the 'install', although it was a bit quirky nonetheless. But, I'm up and running!
