ok, so i've had the taskbar/toolbar thing my own custom colour forever. i changed it when i first got my computer. but yesterday i was trying to fix something else on my computer, and while i was doing that, vista told me it had to switch back to some basic theme, and all the colours changed.

here's what i've done: right-clicked desktop > clicked personalization > then clicked window color and appearance.

then this small box comes up with different themes i can choose from, like windows aero, windows vista, high contrast #1 2 and 3 or whatever.

i know i'm supposed to put it on windows aero, after i click apply and close the box, nothing changes and i open it again and its switched back to windows classic EVERY single time. i dont know what to do. i want to be able to get these colour options but changing the theme to windows aero doesnt work.

Try this!

Go into task manager >services.
Look for one named Themes, if its deactivated, activate it. That was my problem and i think i got the same error.
