ok i just bought some,

OCZ OCZN800SR2GK DDR2 PC2-6400 800MHz NVIDIA® SLI™-Ready
Edition Dual Channel, 4x 1 gig = 4 gigs total lol ,

Thing is i hear loads bout people under clocking ram cos it ment to give a speed boost is this true ? and how hard is it to do ? also how could i do it ?

also i heard 6400 is useless unless you over clock it ?

well i just pretty stupid with ram so any info about this would be very helpful thanks in advance ...... :p

You will not a get a performance boost unless you actually get the clock inscreased to the full speed of the 6400. Which will not happen unless you overclock your CPU, or set a different ratio. (in advanced settings in your BIOS)

no need to over clock my CPU cos i can set my ram speed and cpu speed dif i can unlink them you can do this on all 680i boards
atm i have my bus speed as 1365 MHz and my ram at 666 MHz so could put 1100 MHz ram in my board and still have my cpu at stock which is 2.4 but i have overclocked my cpu to 3.4 any ways so it dont matter

Yes, video cards can share system RAM. But only if they are integrated motherboard graphics, or if they are designed with a small amount of RAM on the card and share up to a certain amount of your system RAM, like the "turbocache" cards by nvidia.

I think what you might have heard is that people underclock the RAM so that when they raise the FSB it increases the speed of the RAM back up to, or near, the RAM's rated speed.

No, it won't share any RAM. Its a standalone graphics card, uses its own RAM. as do most (or all) high(er) end graphics cards. The ones that share memory are the really low end ones, like the 7300's.

ahh ok cool
one more question my ram and cpu can be unlinked so last night i over clocked my cpu from 2.4 to 3.4 keeping my ram on 666 MHz my cpu temp was 44 on no load 54 ish on full load is this ok do you think or do you think i should keep on low overclock like mabye 3.2 or 3.0 also i get my new ram today i post it OZC 800 MHz sli ready ram,

also the volage i got my cpu on is 1.5 i hear the stock is 1.3 for this CPu

I think those temps are maybe a bit on the hot side. I'd lower the oc down a bit. I think .2v increase is a bit of a jump for your cpu and would be causing those high temps.
