Itunes sound not working

Hello,
my itunes sound is not working
all other sound on the computer, interney, media player etc are perfectly fine
itunes is "playing" the song, the bar is moving and it racks up the number of played counter but no sound can be heard,
i have repeatedly reinstalled itunes and it still isnt working
HELP!!

right click on the speaker icon on the bottom right corner of the screen. click on 'mixer' and make sure iTunes isn't muted
