I have an HP Jornada 680. I just found a bargain on an (older) Cisco Aironet
342 WiFi card which, according to a couple of websites, SHOULD work with
this handheld.
What I don't understand is, presuming that I can find the appropriate
drivers on Cisco's site or elsewhere via my desktop PC, how exactly do I get
the drivers onto the handheld into the right place and set up correctly ?
I've synced to the desktop via serial using Activesync, but I've never
actually done a file transfer.

If it's just about the file transfer:
If you sync with AS, you should have an entry within Explorer that
says "Mobile Device" (or something like that, I have German Windows).
This entry is on the same hierarchy level as your computer's drives.
Via this entry you can browse on the PDA's file system and move files
around just like in the other folders you are used to.
Another way would be to "beam" the files across (only, if your
computer as infrared). Once the driver is copied (should be an EXE or
CAB file), you can execute it on the PDA, thus installing the
software.
