Surely building a system should be cheaper than buying it?

Hey
I've recently started thinking about replacing my computer with a nice high end gaming rig. Looked over a few online computer sellers and then began to think about building my own to save some money.

To give me a rough idea of how much I would save - I customised a computer to buy at www.pcspecialist.co.uk and then tried to choose the same components on www.overclockers.co.uk (live in the UK)

I wasn't able to find everything on overclockers so there were a few minor things that the prebuilt system would have had which my custom built one wouldnt have.

To my suprise, the prebuilt one came out at £821 and the components off overclockers came to £829! :S

So, I was wondering if anyone could help me by telling me if
a) pcspecialist offers fantastic value
b) overclockers is overly expensive
c) I messed it up and didn't compare like for like

the system I configured on pcspecialist was:

I've found quite a lot of bad customer feedback about pcspecialist products so I'm thinking maybe that is why its cheaper. Anyone have any input?
