Hello networky people. I need help. I'm trying to set up a remote data acquisition system. I've got the PLC and computer on its own private network (this cannot be changed). The computer has a celluar card that connects to the internet. THe ISP will not give it a static IP address. How can I set up my system so that I can either 1) discover the IP address 2) have the private network email me its IP address 3) access that private network directly without knowing the connections IP address?

Any ideas? I've heard about a type of program call NAT, but I don't know how it works.

so you're saying you're only getting a dynamic address from the ISP? If so, you can use DDNS

Thank you very much...I didn't use that product, but it pointed me in the right direction. Your help is appreciated.
