I initially created several User Accounts then deleted them through Control Panel > Users.
I recently noticed in Windows Explorer that two of the accounts I believed that I'd deleted (named C:\Documents and Settings\jo and C:\Documents and Settings\janet) still appear to be present but have had no activity on them since 15 September 2009. They are not present in Control Panel > Users.
The account I am currently using is named C:\Documents and Settings\jo.JOEEEPC
This Account appears to have been created on 16 October 2009. This is passwrod protected & I use Classic View. The Guest account is turned off.
I note from System Restore that:
15 September 2009: I performed two Rollbacks to previous points, I think that this was due to the machine apparently loosing the WLAN Card (possibly a software installation issue most likely AVG Free 8.5)
16 October I manually created a restore point before deleting the previously created User Accounts.
I recall securing something or making something Private in, I presume currrent User Account, which flicked up as a short dialog but can't remember exactly what it said, it took a couple of minutes to apply though.
I have also just noticed that StarOffice Writer is not responding but I haven't used it for a while...
Is there any safe way that I can remove the defunct User Accounts janet and jo?
Most information I've been able to find refers only to XP Pro.
