Why do I have these folders in my XP which are a long series of numbers & letters, e.g. 32c64ff3c3948c1650ccb? Can I remove them, as they seem to have other directories below them that have MS apps, etc. in them?

Usually are temporally files, so, if the folder is in the Temp files you can delete without problems.
