Need help asap!

I am trying to reformat my pc with windows vista ultimate but everytime i get to step 2 this error message always pops up:
"Windows cannot access the required file D:\Sources\Boot.wim."

What could be the problem and how can i fix this?

are you using vista dvd or source from local hard disk..

if you are using dvd then try with some other disc

yep its a problem with the disk. D: would be your DVD drive

I'm using a Vista dvd.

It just sounds like a corrupt disc, not your actual drive. I'm not too sure on the laws on this.

I think You can download a back-up copy from the internet as long as you use the key you purchased legally.

I can't provide you a direct link as the sites usually contain other pirated software, but I'm sure a quick google search will bring up what you need.

if it a new PC i don't think it would be. i was just pointing out that D: means the DVD drive so the only possibility is you have a bad disk so see if you can make a copy of that DVD and try to install vista with that new copy.
