About 5 months ago I was planning on building my computer and I was planning on getting a E6600 with a eVGA 680i motherboard + memory + video card, etc... but I decided to wait because I thought I would need the money for something else. Now that I heard that the Q6600 price is dropping to $266 on July 22nd I'm really pumped on building my new computer again. I've been a little out of touch and haven't been paying that much attention to the motherboard scene for about 5 months so I'm not sure if anything new has been developed. So my question is, is the 680i the best motherboard for the Q6600 and which model. If you think something else is better, please explain why. Thanks for the advice in advanced.

680i SLI is still good. If you don't plan on using dual graphics cards, you may want to look into a p35 (new intel chipset) motherboard. Like an ASUS P5K or a Gigabyte p35c-ds3r, which has ddr3 compatibility for later.
