Have a Compaq server with HW Raid (Compac Smart array 532 controller).

1 drive failed (36 GB) on the mirror but I can't get another one for 3-4 weeks by order.

Any problems if I replace failed hot swap drive with a larger drive: 72 GB?

Will the controller use 36GB space from 72G drive and rebuild mirror?

Thanks,
Harold

It should, though it probably depends on the controller. The larger hdd will get formatted as a 36GB drive. (before you ask, no, you can't get that space back.) If your just doing this to limp by for a couple of weeks until the new drive shows up, I vote to go for it, especially if you already have the 74GB drive.
