Hey guys,
I am just wondering if I should be getting these huge idle to load temp changes when using a TEC. My system is:

e6420
asus p5b deluxe wifi
corsair xms2 pc6400c4
Thermaltake thoughpower 600w
HIS 2900xt
swiftec h20-220-775T with meanwell psu

My current overclock is:
3400mhz
425fsb
ram 1:1
Vcore 1.55 : 1.5-1.52 after droop

Idle temp is reported as -1 in TAT and other programs but closer to -10 in the bios.
Load temp hits 36

As soon as load is taken off the cpu the temperature is back in the negatives within a couple of seconds. Just wondering if this is normal and was after suggestions as to how I could overclock this further. Loses stability at anything higher.

simply because the core is where the temps are measured from and where the heat is being generated, the laws of thermodynamics pertty much make it so that all heat tries to even out, since it evens out in the middle, one part is going to be cold (tec) one part is goign to be medium (?thermalgoop under the ihs) and one is going to be hot (the core)

Yes. It just seems far to large a change to me, though I am new to peltiers and am unsure if that is just normal for these.

Well, as much as we do rely on a multiple of programs to give us temp readings, unless you've gotten actual temp probes in the waterblocks I would take what you are seeing with a grain of salt as the only big difference in temps are going to be hotside versus coldside when dealing with TECs.

My C2D 6600 o'clocked to 3.2 reads 0 celsius both on load and at idle as my temp programs don't seem to be able to go lower.
