Thats about the current price of the processor alone, so its certainly a deal if you're happy with the board. Still, I would wait the extra few weeks.

I know that the prices of the Core 2 QXXXX series will be dropping by the end of the year

Actually 31 days. I'm sure some people out there have the XFX board I would see what they think of it first. You could just wait a few weeks and get that CPU and almost any board you want for the same price.

Is this deal to good to be true?

$499 CPU + Motherboard Deal

I know that the prices of the Core 2 QXXXX series will be dropping by the end of the year but this seems to good of a deal to pass up.

Let me know what you think.

it depends on what you actually have as computer. if you have an athlon 1000, get anything, you'll be pleased... but i don't think you should get the Q series before july 22nd. for the few extra months, you'll see no difference unless using a gonzo software supporting quad cores by itself...

lol... using premiere pro 2.0 ? get a quad... otherwise. stay tuned and wait to have 100 more bucks

if you already have at least a dual core, don't even bother buying a quad for 1 month of use unless what you actually have doesn't do the job. and until then, we'll probably see real benches for barcelona... incoming mid-august. then you'll know for sure if you're making the best investment. until then, you can't really be fixed unless you want to buy exclusively from intel.
