Recovering encrypted partition

Hi all,

I run in a problem with Mint. In my laptop I had installed vista and I used truecrypt to store my private information. One of my friend give me mint, so I could install it and play with it round. Unfortunately when I installed mint, vista was gone. The problem is that I lost all my private information. Is there any way to recover my documents. If any one had the same problem or knows anything about it, please let me know.
I have been looking for day for solution but with out any luck.
