Repair dvd drives

Hello,
when i put a cd into the disc tray, and close it, the disc doesn't play when i click on the icon on the desktop a pop-up says that there was no cd/dvd rom drive found?

It sounds like your cd-rom driver should be replaced. Depending on your cd-rom brand, look for the drivers on there website. Also has your cd-rom worked before? Is this a new computer? Have you done any recent updates?

DVD makers/distributors do not provide system drivers. The CD/DVD drives use the native MS OS drivers. Yeah, sounds like a good chance OP's unit needs to be replaced.
