is that Putting 1 piece of X1950pro COMPARE to 2 piece of 8600GT (SLI mode) will be the much different?
my fren said it would be pointless to SLi 8600GT....is tht right?
With SLi 8600GT, you might be able to beat the X1950Pro in SOME benchmarks, but I really can't think of a worse way to waste your money. First of all, you don't seem to have the kind of budget for TWO 8600GT's. Second, if you DO have that bugdet, get an 8800GTS 320MB. It'll rip apart SLi 8600GT's anyday, anytime, and even when the moon is blue.
Your friend is dead on target.
How are the Core 2 Duo prices there? You might be able to snag an E4300 with a cheap-yet-decent motherboard.
The E6420 will be faster than the X2 5200, especially in games, but the price looks a bit high. How much is the X2 5200? If it's significantly cheaper, go with it... it's still an excellent chip.
As far as I'm concerned, if you're not going to use SLI, don't spend the money on an SLI board. Not sure prices and availability in Malaysia, but the Asus M2N-E (or equivalent Gigabyte NForce 570 Ultra chipset board) will only cost half as much.
Sealboy is absolutely correct when he says 8800GTS is much better than SLI'ed 8600GT.
