Is it ok to use different brands of RAM that have the same timings and clock? or is it a better idea to get the same brand?

To be more specific, can I mix Corsair XMS2 with Crucial Ballistix or G.Skill (DDR2 800, 4-4-4-12)?

Thanks.

Yes, if you can find the same RAM get it.

Also, when using different models in dual channel setup, get the same memory density memory such as 64mb or 128mb ones.

yes you can, and its a fairly good chance it will work....

you also run the risk tho of instability when using dual channel..and in some rare cases..the mobo might just plain not run. Its not very common, but i seen some picky mobos before.
