Windows XP Pro install issues

I have a Dell Optiplex GX620 that was purchased as a barebones chassis. All it needed was a Porcessor, Memory, and Harddrive. I installed a Pentium D 945 processor, WD 500GB harddrive and one stick of Kingstone 2G Pc-5300 memory. I am using the Dell resource disck to Install windows XP Pro SP2. It installs it does the intial install, formats, but than when it goes to reboot the system the computer shuts down and boots up to a blank screen?? I have let the computer set for a hour and the monitor never shuts off, but still have blank black screen? Need some help.
