to my understanding its good to have 1:1, my question is what does is it matter, i mean if your ratio 2:1 does it hurt you. because i can clock my ram to a faster speed but then i wouldn't have a 1:1. how woould this affect my pc performance negative or positive?

If your RAM is faster than your FSB, you can run it at a faster speed, which is good.
For example if your FSB is 266 and your RAM is 400, you can run RAM at 800 and the FSB at 266.
When overclocking it is good to try to keep the RAM speed as fast as your memory speed, not lower.
