I tried to repair xp home with the upgrade cd. My comp was so messed up that i went for a new install instead of repair because i have no idea what admin password is. Problem...stops before installing with error.Setup log reads.... "set up could not register the ole control c:\windows\system32\initpki.dll because of error "loadlibrary returned error 126(the spec module could not be found)

then:

the signature for winxp home edition is invalid. error code is 800b0001

What should I do now?

You can't format/install a fresh copy from an upgrade disc. You need a previous version of windows to upgrade from.
