Hey all :D . After my last build fell through when an offer ended that added £110 to my total build i had some major thought. About what mum and dad need. My conclusion was that i wasnt the £500 + system i was talking about. Really for word, ie7 and itunes having a 2.8ghz core 2 duo isnt really neccercery.

I have also slightly had it with the current graphics market. I think i will wait and buy myself a gaming card when the next 6600gt esque card comes out. (ie fairly cheap and amazing performance) I just do not want to spend the £175 for a 8800gts and i want dx10.

So this build in my view has alot of promice and its very affordable.

Microsoft Windows Vista Home Premium EDU DVD

Coolermaster IGreen 430W PSU - 85% Efficiency ATX12V v2.2 120mm Fan (should be plenty for any graphics i add on)

I-Cute 0509ULA Black Mid Tower Case with 25cm Side Fan (and 140mm front fan) - No PSU
(i like the fan :D )

Extra Value 120mm Internal Case Fan In Black - 4 pin connector (more cooling!)

Akasa FC-06BK Black 3.5" Fan Controller - 3x Fans with 2x USB2.0 Ports

Amd Athlon64 X2 3600+ Socket Am2 2x512kb L2 Cache 65watt Retail Boxed Processor (low power recs. quiet and good oc'er if the extra performance is need in the future)

Kingston 2GB KIT (2X1GB) DDR2 667MHz/PC2-5300 CL5 Non Ecc 1.8V (all that is needed for the budget build :) )

Logitech X-230 2.1 Speaker System - 32W RMS (to replace the rubbish acer ones we already have)

Samsung SH-S183 SATA 18x DVD±RW/RAM Black - Bare Drive OEM

Sapphire Socket AM2 690G Chipset with HDMI onboard Audio mATX motherboard (great value decent intergrated graphics until i buy a new card and fine oc'er)

Seagate ST3250620AS 250GB SATAII/300 7200RPM 16MB Cache - OEM

total £348.65

I already have a monitor, mouse and keyboard and will sell the old tower for £50 taking costs below £300 :D

any views/comments

thanks

patrick
