Well, a few months ago, I built a new system, based off a e6600, a gigabyte 650i, a XFX 8800 320. I love it, but I have this bug, I want to build a newer, better, bigger machine, and one I can do a little modding to also (the case). I am in the process of selling what I have, and getting this: Please note, I put the E6600 in, but will be going Quad Core when the prices drop:
I want high air flow, I want it to light up like a Christmas Tree also. I am going to mod the back side, to make a window there also and mabye a bottom blow hole and feet for it. I am also going to paint the inside with reflective paint.
Let me know what everyone thinks about this, i tried to cover all my bases and do my homework.

Your either single or don't have the school debt I have.
Congratulation I wish I could build that often/at those prices.
You could probably get a cheaper board/psu as you won't be using SLI or 720W of power(to my knowledge), however always good to have a forwards compatible good quality psu.
Has 2 ddr2 and 2 ddr3 slots. If you plan on upgrading your ram later might be good, isn't much more. You have cheap ram spec'd now so not like it would hurt too much to replace it in a year or 18 months.
Also your fans seem to be all different colors might be best to stick to one color although that's your call not mine.
-Ditch the Tuniq. Get a smaller, better Thermalright 120 Ultra (or Extreme if you can find one). Put an LED fan on it
-Not so sure about the NZXT Zero case.....with all those side fans, I'm not convinced you're gonna see the nice insides........it's not a clear window, so you may end up spending all this time trying to pimp your case, only to have it never been seen because of those 4 side fans blocking the view. Not good. So either mod the side panel or pick another case.
-That thunderblade fan is NOWHERE near quiet. Keep it in mind. Instead, I highly recommend the Coolermaster fans.....come in just about any color, and are surprisingly quiet, with good airflow. Probably one of the best kept secrets out there. Here's a link to a Canadian site, just look for the similar products in the States:

-Just go with Vista, I have both XP and Vista. It's not as bad as the fearmongers make you believe. Yes it has some annoyances and inefficiencies, but for a brand new OS it's pretty darn good. It'll get there, might as well move now unless you don't mind doing a format and reinstalling everything, settings, etc, etc again later.
-Consider a P35 board. You already have a 650i, and you said you wanted to go bigger and better. Then move to a P35. But stay with DDR2......right now DDR3 CANNOT BE JUSTIFIED given the price. The performance differences are nowhere near worth the cost difference, not even close. Maybe in a year or 2, but for now. So go with P35 and DDR2.
Other than that, looks good. Consider those changes, I think it'll really help. Besides, I didn't steer ya wrong on your last build, did I?
Noise will not bother me, maybe because I live sort of close to a Master Jet Base, I grew up accustomed to it.
Your right about the case, I am some what torn. I want top notch air flow, because I dread and fear water cooling. I want a full tower so I can cut and mod and have tons of space. Apevia has a brand new case coming out this weekend, full tower called the X-Telstar. I have a Cruiser right now, and I love their cases and removable mother board trays. They really make a great case for the money.
The MB change is a good idea, I should think DDR3 for the future.
