Disconnects may have to do with distance and interference which are most overlooked. You want good signals, you replace the bundled rubber ducks with directional antennas ($20).

How about this?

I have the DIR-625. Works like a champ. Only disconnects from ISP. Modem loses synch. I plug the modem in a remote-controlled switch ($20 walmart) so that I can power cycle the modem anywhere. Also, I use a directional antenna pointed at the router. 4 out 5 bars in the basement. Router on 2nd floor.
