I have a gateway laptop that logs off as soon as i log in. ive already tried copy userinit.exe wsaupdater.exe but i just get some error saying that it doesnt exist so i typed c:\windows\*.exe to see the directory and i get:

Try logging in safe mode.

Did it ever say anything about windows activation?

You can try a windows repair in the repair console.

yeah i've been using windows repair but no luck. i have a legit copy of xp. i'm going to try and use PE builder and Ultimate Boot CD for Windows Version 3.50. if i cant get these to work then i'll probably reformat. they win when we reformat.
