I bought a FusionHDTV USB tuner today, and the software it comes with
won't do divx compression on the fly. Is there any software out there
that will let me schedule recordings, and will compress to divx on the
fly? I don't like the idea of having to have 25gig free if I want to
record a movie, just becuase the software records it uncompressed,
then compresses it afterwards.
Any suggestions?
Oh, I'm running WinXP Pro on a 2.4ghz machine with 512 ram and a 64mb
GeForce MX 440 graphics card.

There isn't a PC made that has enough processor to be able to compress
HD-resolution video into any MPEG-4 variant in real time.

It is not recording uncompressed. According to their specs it is recording
8.7GB per hour, or 19 Mbps, the full ATSC bandwidth of the compressed HD
stream. You would need A LOT more disk space to store uncompressed HDTV,
over 500 GB per hour.
