a directory is created by a software IDE when I try to import a project to my workspace. however, during to an operational error, a directory is created recursively, and some files are copied into the sub-directories. now i have a directory tree like this:
aa/aa/aa/aa/aa..........

when i try to delete it using "rd <foldername> /s ", the system complains that the folders are not emply. it is no way to find where are files located in the long chains.

any solutions to delete this folder?

best regards,
Joyce

Try running a chkdsk /r from the command prompt. Start->programs-Accessories->command prompt

When the Command Prompt window opens type CHKDSK /R and press Enter.

After the chkdsk is complete, try deleting the aa folder again and let us know what happens.

Cheers.

if i encounter this problem again, i will try this method on windows first. :) .
