So I just build a brand new machine from ground up today:
2 gigs DDR2 ran OCZ
eGeForce 8800 GTS vid card
nForce 680i LT mobo

When i boot it up it scans for IDE devices finds my hard drive and dies 20 seconds after boot, no error message nothing, just powers down. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Check the heatsink is in correctly , intel chips need to be installed and the heatsink out of the case then put the motherboard in the case

It sounds like the board/chip is protecting the processor from damage

Check that first

If its ok then its a powersupply

Yea, it was the heatsink, i managed to get to bios and check temp and it was running at 106 prior to crashing everytime. I took out the heatsync, put some termal conductive stuff on it (the white stuff) and re applied it, and it works just fine now.

Thanks for your help.
