Startup Repair cannot repair computer autmatically

Hello
I receently became a dsl customer and subsquently routed my dsl modem to a lynksys wireless router. It has been working beautifully until today. I turned my laptop on and the Startup Repair screen appeared. I attempted the repair as it would not take me to a log in screen. The repair attempted only to show a window stating that repair could cannot repair this computer automatically. The only change I recall making when setting up the router was the ppoe. My laptop is a toshiba satellite os vista and came alreay loaded therefore i do not have a recovery or os disc of any type. Help!

Try F8 when it's starting up to get to the repair menu. It should look like this.

Try using the system restore to restore back to a couple days ago.
