Hello,
I've been having this problem with my ethernet drive when transfering a large sum of files like 10gb it starts to transfer but after about 1 or 2 gb it disconnects and I have to restart me computer. If I do it in increments like 1 gb at a time it's fine.
I am running
Windows Vista Ultimate / Xp Pro
Pentium D 930 @ 3.6 Stable
Asus P5WD2-E premium
ATI X1800XT
The network drive is an iomega 250gb fast ethernet drive.
This problem happens in both operating systems.
Any ideas?
Only thing I might think is the cache on the iomega drive is bombing out. Either the NIC cache or the iomega cache. This proves it because you can move 1 to 2 gig at a time.
Do you have more than 1 PC. Does it happen on all pc's. Try a new nic see if the same happens. Something is flooding and cant recover from the flood of data transfer.
ya pretty sure it's the nics on my motherboard then
because before on my p4p800 it worked fine without any issues......
This is another reason why I now know to stay away from marvell...
