Hello,
I'm going to buy a new PC. I'm making a variation of the 'medium-end' system review from a few weeks ago. But I cannot find all the components. I would like some feedback Smile

My requirements:
- It should be able to play the new games at maximum 1600*1200
- It should last for +- 3-5 years (with mayby a few upgrades, like new GPU)
- It should be a (relatively) quiet PC!

What I have in mind

- MSI P35 Platinum (170€)
- Intel Core2 E6600 (with boxed cooler) (209€)
- 4 x 1GB Value Memory (667 Mhz, PC5400, Cas 5-5-5-18 ) (188€)
- EVGA e-GeForce 8800 GTS 320 MB (normal version) (313€)
- 2 x WESTERN DIGITAL 320GB SATA 16MB (WD3200KS) (in Raid 0) (180€)
- ANTEC Sonata III 500W Black (Antec Earthwatts 500W included) (118€)
- DVD-RW SATA Samsung (SH-S183A) (37€)

(Total Price: 1215 Euros)
I'm also buying Windows Vista Home Premium 64Bit (don't want to buy XP now, and in 2 year Vista)

Questions
- Any general remarks?
- Would it be better to buy total of 2 GB of CORSAIR TWINX Matched DDR2 2048MB (2x1024MB) 800Mhz XMS2 6400 HSP 5-5-5-12, instead of the total of 4 GB Value RAM?
- Do I need another CPU fan (that is more quiet)?
- I cannot get the MSI P965 Platinum. Is this MSI P35 Platinum a good alternative? Would the MSI P35 Neo be enough?

Cheers,
QsD (from Belgium)

PERFORMANCE NOT MUCH OF A DIFFERENCE, BUT THE 4 GB WILL LAST WELL INTO THE VISTA ERA.

HOW MUCH ARE YOU PAYING FOR THE 4 GB?

I was going to give you some advice, but I don't know how things are priced in Belgium as opposed to the USA.

mgtech:
Each 1 GB value DDR2 costs 47 Euro's (total of 188 Euro). It has 10 year warranty.
Ps: These are prices from one of the less expensive shop in found Belgium (maybe even one of the cheapest).
