so im trying to reload windows on a laptop which came from italy and everything is in italian..i need it to reload windows to the english version but when i start reloading it, it tells me i need the windows version in italian but i only have it in english and if i did have it, it will still appear in italian which i dont want. any ideas guys on how to fix that problem?? thx a lot appriciate it. :)

Load it in Italian first and then install the English language pack.

Ah, I see.

I've not heard of systems or Windows having region locks on them before but it wouldn't surprise me if that's the problem.

An option might be to "acquire" an Italian version of Windows XP but use the registration key you already have when it asks for it. Then install the English language pack.
