Hey all,
I was reading Anthony's post about when the new Sony models will be coming
out and I am also waiting for the new models whether it be Sony, Samsung,
Panasonic etc.....(those are my 3 fave's right now) .....
Anyways, I haven't followed the pricing market very much and have to ask
what the cost trend has been when the new models come out?......Are they
totally uber-inflated at first and if so, when do they kinda' plateau?
For instance, the list in $CDN for the Samsung HLP 5085 was $4999 when it
came out and still is on their website but recently, I could have bought it
for $3500.
Any ideas?
Thanks

There's always going to be a "better and newer" model coming out, but
you have to jump in at some time. New models come out and are priced
close to listed price but do come down over time. (But then there'll be
another "newer better" model out) Sounds like you want the most bang for
your buck and still get a great product. My advice would be to find
several models you like, then watch the pricing and jump in when they
come down. From what I've seen, 30 to 35% below list is a good deal.
