Sd card reader does not recognise the card

Hello,
I have a Dell XPS M1330 laptop and off-late the SD card reader in my computer does not recognise the card from my digital camera. When I insert the card nothing happens. I tried installing the new dell chipset software too but no luck. My card works perfectly fine in the camera and in other laptops. Please help!

Some card readers do not recognize higher capacity SD cards. Try one with less memory to see if this could be the problem. If it is, you will need an external reader
