First try to remove write protection by locating a small switch on the drive or memory card reader. This is the simplest way of removing write protection assuming everything is ok.

If the above process fails that means the drive is having some problem in reading the write protection status. Such a situation may be solved by a low level format of the drive thereby forcefully removing the write protection.
