Search in start menu in vista not working

Hello, My Search in the start meny returns only"Favorites and History" and "Communications" but has lost the ability to find other files. I have re-indexed the Data and Users and re-started the "Windows search" Service but to no avail. It has lost the ability only recently, after I ran the "SpeedUpMyPc" software. Any ideas how I get get back the full search facility of the Start? The search facility and advanced search of the Windows Explorer still works.

Sounds like system registry problems. Open Command Prompt and type in sfc/sannow to scan the system for errors. Try cc cleaner registry cleaner also.
