My computer randomly restarts with the error STOP: 0x0000009C. I was told this error is caused because the cores can't sync right or something like that. Plus when I put in the error it comes up with a number of solutions. Anyone got any ideas?

If you haveve changed or added any hardware recently like RAM, remove it and assemble the computer the way it was before the problem occured. Otherwise, you will need spare parts to troubleshoot a hardware issue.
• System bus errors
• Memory errors that may include parity or Error Correction Code (ECC) problems
• Cache errors in the processor or hardware
• Translation Lookaside Buffers (TLB) errors in the processor
• Other CPU-vendor specific detected hardware problems
• Vendor-specific detected hardware problems
Check your bios settings and also make sure your CPU is recognized properly at boot. I can't see why you'd be getting this message unless your XP setup just can't identify the CPU it's running under.
